about the author
Jean Huxtable-Hamersky has been an avid reader since grade school, when all she wanted for gifts were books. Today, she enjoys relaxing in a comfy chair, book in hand, getting lost in a story. Her career as a Speech-Language Pathologist has taken her from Nebraska to Michigan, North Dakota, and Wisconsin, where she often used books to support children with speech and language disorders. She has published three educational resources on vocabulary, figurative language, and word knowledge. Jean also finds peace in nature and exploring the outdoors. She believes in the value of children experiencing nature, and aims to inspire curiosity, wonder, and kindness in others.
